Rick Achard |
Rick Achard is an amusement industry professional with 33 years experience. He rose through the ranks at Darien Lake, New York first as Ride Mechanic and Ride Electrician, then Safety Manager and ultimately as Loss Control Manager. Rick is an award-winning instructor for the industry. Instructing first for AREA and now the successor AIMS, plus NAARSO and WWA, Rick is also authorized as an OSHA Outreach Instructor and an Aims on the Road Instructor; and, is additionally a voting member of the ASTM Amusement Industry F-24 Committee on maintenance. A NAARSO (National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials) certified ride inspector (Level III) and an AIMS (Amusement Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers) Level 3 Professional Ride Inspector, Level 3 Certified Maintenance Technician and Level 3 Certified Operations Technician, Rick exemplifies the kind of detailed knowledge and expertise that Coulter Associates brings to every venue.

Barry Schaible |
Barry Schaible is an amusement industry with more than 42 years experience. He came to Coulter after a successful run with the Florida based James E. Strates Shows organization where he was Safety Director. Before his association with Strates, he worked with Anheuser Busch parks as both a safety director and an operations director. Providing classroom instruction first for AREA and now for AIMS, Barry is an award-winning instructor for safety education in the amusement industry and is a voting member of the ASTM Amusement Industry F-24 Committee on maintenance. Barry’s special areas of expertise include ride set-up, operation and maintenance, security and ADA. Barry is certified as an Amusement Ride Inspector by NARRSO and is an AIMS Level 3 Certified Operations Technician and credentialed in Non-Destructive Testing and Drug Testing. Barry is highly versed, thoroughly skilled and a remarkable, expert amusement industry safety professional.

Allan Scanlan |
Allan Scanlan’s professional career spans more than 4 decades devoted to the amusement industry. He came to Coulter having been director of safety and transportation manager, a ride superintendent, mechanic, and electrician with first Great Western Carnival and later B & B Carnival. Al brings additional expertise with his experience as a successful hands-on manager of an amusement park featuring 17 traditional rides and both a gas and a steam powered train. An educator with a Class A Commercial Drivers License, Al provides classroom instruction in amusement industry safety, maintenance, operations and DOT and is credentialed in Drug Testing. A NARRSO Certified Amusement Ride Inspector Level II, AIMS Certified Maintenance Technician Level II and AIMS Certified Operations Technician Level II, Al is also Certified/Experienced in the operation of a number of pieces of heavy equipment. As a safety professional, Al’s background in amusement industry safety, operations and maintenance combines with his knowledge and skills in heavy equipment and his “can do” spirit.
